What Is an In-Kind Donation?

An in-kind donation is a contribution of goods or physical items rather than money. Examples include clothing, furniture, diapers, toys, food, personal care products, household goods, and other donated materials.

At this time, Women & Family Life Center is unable to accept most general in-kind donations because our facility does not have the storage or distribution capacity needed to manage these items responsibly. Please do not drop off or leave physical donations at the Center unless they have been discussed and approved by a member of our team in advance.

We understand that these items can still be valuable to individuals and families in our community. Several local agencies are equipped to accept, store, and distribute donated goods. Please refer to our Other Agencies for In-Kind Donations Guide for organizations that may be able to accept the items you wish to donate.

Please note that the Wish List does not mean the Center is able to accept general donations of similar items.

Gift Cards Welcome

Gift cards provide flexibility and allow us to respond to the individual needs of the women and families we support. We regularly welcome gift cards for:

• Grocery stores
• Gas stations
• Discount and general merchandise stores, such as Walmart, Target, or Dollar General
• Restaurants, cafés, and fast-food locations
• Public transportation and bus passes

Some gift cards may also appear on our Amazon Community Wish List, but they do not need to be purchased through Amazon. Because our needs can change, please call the Center before purchasing or delivering gift cards so our team can provide the most current information about community needs and drop-off arrangements.
