MSW STUDENT INTERNSHIP

 Qualifications/skills: 

• Currently enrolled in a social work program at a college or university 

• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills 

• Ability to work collaboratively with participants, families, and colleagues. 

• Knowledge of social work principles and practices 

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in sensitive situations. 

• Computer proficiency required in Microsoft Office Applications (Word & Excel) 

• Comfortability working with a client-relations management (CRM) database.

 • Work or volunteer experience with adults and/or families preferred.

Internships 

Interns help to promote our mission by participating in a number of programs and activities.  

Interns are:

  • Unpaid and require a commitment of at least 10 hours per week 
  • Assigned projects depending on their skills and interests, their program requirements, and W&FLC priority activities 
  • Assist with general office work such as correspondence, data entry, helping with mailings and other work as necessary
  • Should have strong communication, writing and computer skills
  • Expected to demonstrate general work-related skills such as punctuality, responsibility, and thoroughness

Volunteers

Donating your time is a vital contribution to our organization. W&FLC has several volunteer opportunities throughout the year including a variety of special projects, programs, board service, committee service, staffing events, and general office support. Volunteers should have strong communication, writing and computer skills and are expected to demonstrate general work-related skills such as punctuality, responsibility, and thoroughness. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us to learn what is available and how you can get involved.
